Dream Boards and Vision Boards: How to Create Your Own

Dream Boards and Vision Boards are simply visual representations of what you want to create in your life. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to create a dream or vision board. Depending on what you want to create in your life, you can include on your dream board goals for material things (tangibles) you would like to acquire such as: cars, houses, furniture, clothing, vacations; as well as experiences or intangibles such as: love, confidence, peace, community, forgiveness, health, etc.

Here is what my Dream Board (Vision Board) looks like as it sits in my master bathroom because I can look at it every morning when I get up and every evening when I go to bed:

Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow

I have a question for you: Do you love your job?

Marcus Buckingham, author of “One Thing You Need to Know” says:

“Some people will tell you that it doesn’t matter if you like your work; you just have to be good at it. Question this advice. You may well be good at some activities you don’t enjoy, but your enjoyment is the fuel you require to keep practicing the activity. Lacking this enjoyment, your performance will likely plateau.”

I know first hand about being in a job you don’t love. I was in the legal field Quit Your Job and Follow Your Dreams for over 15 years and it was draining on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. I was “good” at what I did, but I found no joy in it.

So although I was making what was “good money” at the time, they were really empty dollars because I did not feel fulfilled in that job. Going to work everyday and sitting in my little cubicle felt like a prison to me.

Life Lessons — What Are You Discovering These Days

Life Lessons are something we all experience. Some we label as “good” and some we label as “bad.” To really learn the lesson we must take a step back from the situation and look at the problem with new eyes.

Not to judge the situation so we can make ourselves feel bad for even being in that situation, but to look at it and instead of saying “why me” which is always a victim question; to say, “What is this experience trying to teach me?” That question helps us discover the life lesson we are supposed to be learning.

Time has a way of revealing certain things to us; as time goes by we can look back on our lives and see the many life lessons we’ve learned. However, wouldn’t it be great and probably more helpful, if we could learn the life lessons as we are in the midst of those challenges. The reason we want to learn them now, rather than later, is so we can stop repeating them.

This past weekend, I was chasing my cat and slipped and fell in my kitchen hitting the granite countertop and cabinet pretty hard with my right shoulder. I ended up in the emergency room and now have a sling on my right arm. What’s interesting to me is that I keep re-injuring this part of my body.

Vegan Diet – Is it Right For You

A few months ago, my 23 year old daughter and her friend came into my home office and said, “Mom, we want you to watch this video.” Little did I know it was a PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) video which showed the inhumane practices at the slaughter houses including the cruelty, suffering and filthy conditions, not to mention the fecal contamination, of cows, chickens and pigs (a.k.a. burgers, steak, chicken breast, bacon, hot dogs, etc.).
